With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 under a month away from launch, fans are concerned about the new FPS game’s inconsistent hit detection.
Following a large number of awful spawns, wildly varying time to kill and weak killstreaks, players are now complaining about the game’s wonky hit detection.
According to players on Reddit, the recent Modern Warfare 3 beta was awful for the game’s nerf-like gunplay, something we’ve also complained about. Many complain that the game’s puny weapons are made even worse by rampant hit detection issues that make your billets useless.
Fans believe that the game’s hit detection system is largely unchanged from that of 2022’s Modern Warfare 2. However, the game’s much faster movement has made it harder for the game to tell when a player has actually been clipped by a bullet.
“[The movement] is exaggerating desync issues,” one player reports. “[I’ve] seen multiple character models seemingly teleport from one spot to another, especially when mantling and changing direction, and that was in <50 ping lobbies. How can you hit what isn't updating properly on your screen?”
Compared to Modern Warfare 2019 and its 2022 follow-up, Modern Warfare 3 does appear to have a lot more technical issues in its beta state. However, with a month until launch, and beta builds being months out of date, there is hope that the launch version of the latest CoD game will be solid.
In the meantime, CoD fans are still dealing with multiple issues elsewhere. For example, the recent Warzone The Haunting update added a premium skin that makes users invisible. Real quality move right there.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches on Xbox, Playstation and PC on November 10, 2023.
