Sony has today announced the new PS Plus November 2020 free PS4 games and they're not a bad bunch for PlayStation owners to download.

For those who have yet to see the news, you'll soon be able to download the Lord of the Rings inspired action-adventure 'Middle-earth: Shadow of War' as well as indie darling 'Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition'.

You can also download Young Horses’ ultra-charming new PS5 game Bugsnax! But we can't tell you if that'll be any good since there's been no reviews for the game just yet.

Still, if you're keen to know more about each of the previously mentioned PS4 games? Then no problem, we've got your back.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War

Set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, Middle-earth: Shadow of War beckons you once more into JRR Tolkien’s iconic world of wizards, orcs and elves. Go behind enemy lines to forge your army, conquer Fortresses and dominate Mordor from within. Experience how the Nemesis System creates unique personal stories with every enemy and follower, and confront the full power of the Dark Lord Sauron and his Ringwraiths in this epic new story of Middle-earth.

Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition

In Team Cherry’s engrossing 2D explorative platformer, descend into a sprawling underground world of Hollownest to battle tainted creatures and befriend bizarre bugs. Unlock new skills and tailor your power sets to fit your playstyle to help you explore twisting caverns, ancient cities and deadly wastes. Uncover a kingdom’s ancient history, taking on epic bosses that’ll challenge your combat and platforming skills as you strive to solve the mysteries buried at its heart.

Both games are available to download from Tuesday, November 3 to Monday, November 30.

The question is - are these new PS Plus games any good? Let's find out...

PS Plus November 2020 - Are The Games Any Good?

Whilst you might be keen to add them to your sub, should you download them? Should you make time to place them? Here's a recap of the aforementioned games Metacritic scores and some choice comments from the leading reviews we spotted.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War

• Metacritic rating - 80/100

USGamer"Shadow of War does stumble into a bit of a grind in the latter part of the game and the Chests system could be tuned much better. As it stands now, it's transparent in wanting you to open your wallet and buy a bit of Gold. Those issues are what keep Shadow of War from being an absolutely amazing game, instead of just a great one."

GameInformer

"Shadow of War fulfills the promise of its predecessor, completing a dark and violent lost tale set within the world of The Lord of the Rings. I was initially frustrated by the liberties that Monolith takes with this beloved fiction (which are plentiful), but I eventually abandoned myself to the insanity, and fell down the rabbit hole into a superb fantasy adventure. Monolith captures the thrill of power with aplomb; the way it simultaneously speaks of its dangers and corrupting potential is the real magic."

IGN

"Similar to the way Batman: Arkham City built on the foundation of Arkham Asylum, Middle-earth: Shadow of War is bigger and more ambitious in scope than Shadow of Mordor, with great results. The way it expands the Nemesis system with far greater variety and fortress sieges makes even better use of the stand-out generated characters, and its battles with memorable uruk captains remain challenging all the way through the campaign and into the clever asynchronous multiplayer beyond."

Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition

• Metacritic rating - 85/100

PushSquare"Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition shines bright, which is ironic considering its solemn presentation and challenging gameplay. Offering a plethora of collectibles and content to explore as well as unrelenting confrontations, the game delivers a sensational, mysterious journey which will undoubtedly test your platforming skills."

Official PlayStation Magazine"Visually stunning, mechanically rewarding – Hollow Knight is a game that works on just about every level. It presents challenge, but always fairly, with plentiful options to explore new pathways."

Metro GameCentral"The question of how important originality is to any new game is largely a question of personal taste, but Hollow Knight offers some compelling mitigation for its lack of innovation: the gorgeous presentation and the insanely low asking price. There’s no question that Hollow Knight is hugely enjoyable and great value for money. But if its gameplay had been as imaginative as its visuals it could have been a genuine classic."
