The Four Banes in Black Myth: Wukong
Here’s a brief description of every Status Effect in Black Myth: Wukong:
Burn
Players will encounter the Burn Status Effect pretty early, particularly in Chapter 1. When the Burn Metre on the right-hand side of your screen maximizes, enemies will be able to inflict burn damage that sustains over time.
Bosses that use this Status Effect include Guangzhi and Black Bear Guai, among others.
Chill
This Status Effect is commonly seen in Chapter 3 of Black Myth: Wukong. Like the other Ailments, the damage effect will sustain itself unless players use a cure for it.
The Chill Status Ailment deals frost damage to the Destined One. In some situations, players may also find themselves in a frozen or immobilized state. Here, the damage dealt will not only increase than usual but will also render players unable to counter.
Bosses that use this Status Effect include Non-White and Macaque Chief, among others.
Shock
Shocked is considered one of the most deadly Status Effects in Black Myth: Wukong. When used upon, overall enemy attacks increase in damage.
Bosses that use this Status Effect include Captain Wise-Voice, Cyan, and Yellow Loong, among others.
Poison
Like the Burn Status Effect, you may counter some bosses that use this Ailment in the early parts of the game, though a greater majority of Chapter 4 bosses can be seen using it. Much like real life, the Poison Status Effect kills you slowly—it may not even be noticeable at times!
Bosses that use this Status Effect include the Hundred-Eyed Daoist, Daomist Mi, Poison Chief, and Guangmou, among others.
