From the Titan of Time to a sea creature rock band, there are a lot of bosses in Hades 2. Conquering each one can be a challenge, though you're duly rewarded for your victory. So, it's smart to find out all the Hades 2 bosses that you'll need to beat, especially if you're aiming for the true ending.
After playing way too many hours already, here are all the bosses in Hades 2 Early Access right now and what I've learned from beating them. Keep in mind that more could be added to the Hades 2 boss list over time as the story is built on leading up to the full release date. Be sure to check out all the best Hades 2 Boons as well if you're having a hard time with any of the bosses in the Underworld or Olympus. Obviously, spoilers ahead for all of the Hades 2 bosses. All Hades 2 Bosses in Order
The seven Hades 2 bosses are:
- Hecate
- Scylla and the Sirens
- Infernal Beast (Cerberus)
- Chronos
- Polyphemus
- Charybdis
- Eris
Hades 2 bosses are simply superb, though I'd expect nothing less from the likes of Supergiant Games. If you've played the first game, then you'll know just how diverse the bosses can be, from their abilities to the designs. By far though, the best part is the little things - like Scylla’s band actually playing the track or Chronos mocking you for trying to pause. After all, Chronos is the Titan of Time so no measly pause button is going to stop him.
With four floors in the main run right now, you’ll be facing off against Hecate, Scylla, Cerberus, and Chronos to reach the end. Polyphemus, Charybdis, and Eris are bosses in the Olympus path, making them supplementary in a way. They're equally great bosses though, so don't write them off just because they're not the big four.
1. Hecate
The first Hades 2 boss is Headmistress Hecate. That's right, you've got to go toe to toe with Melinoe’s own mentor. Don't worry though, Hecate hasn’t switched sides, she's just testing you before you start the real adventure. This boss fight is all about testing Melinoe’s skills. Again though, just because Hecate is testing you, doesn’t mean she’ll go easy on you.
As the goddess of witchcraft, necromancy, crossroads, and other general spookiness, Hecate's boss fight involves a lot of dodging magic spells. Luckily, most of Hecate's moves are highly telegraphed and relatively slow-moving, so it's not too challenging to dodge. The only issue you're likely to run into is the stage where she summons minions before turning the arena into a bullet-hell, with projectiles everywhere requiring your attention.
2. Scylla and the Sirens
Scylla and the Sirens is the second of the Hades 2 bosses you will encounter on your run. If you’re a fan of Hades’ music, then this boss fight is a particular treat. This musical trio each play a different part of the track, with it winding down with each member you kill.
Most importantly though, the Scylla boss fight can be a handful given there are technically three bosses you need to take down. I recommend starting with the Drummer, as they're the easiest target. The Sirens are also weak to Hestia's Scorch abilities, making this a particularly good pairing.
3. Infernal Beast (Cerberus)
Fans of Hades 1 will recognise Cerberus, the loveable three-headed dog that joined Zagreus. Well, that three-headed dog is back, though this time they've got more of a bite thanks to Chronos.
With their large size, Cerberus has many sweeping AoE attacks that will keep you on your toes. Luckily though, their large stature means they’re not the fastest boss. If you stay on the move and dodge Cerberus’ slams then you'll have a good chance of defeating this boss.
Even better than the sweet feeling of victory is that beating this boss isn't the end of Cerberus. Our furry friend will shrink back to the size we've come to love and become their friendly self once more.
4. Chronos
Chronos, the Titan of Time, is the final boss of Hades 2. They have multiple phases, so there's a lot you will have to learn to beat them. What's more, the arena begins quite small in phase one, making it harder to dodge Chronos' attacks and minions. Thankfully, the fight will progress to a larger, circular arena.
5. Polyphemus
The Cyclops Polyphemus is the first boss you can find while on the surface of Olympus. With their large size, Polyphemus packs a punch but is rather slow. Their attacks are highly telegraphed too, giving you plenty of time to dodge. The most challenging part is just how many minions Polyphemus will summon, giving you a lot to juggle. My advice would be to stay mobile and clear up the minions to give yourself a small breather, before going to town on Polyphemus, especially if you're focused on melee damage.
6. Charybdis
Charybdis the Devouring is another secret Hades 2 boss that you can find in Olympus. This grotesque sea monster can't be attacked directly, so you have to attack its tentacles as and when they spawn. Be careful though as Charybdis will also be attacking you with ranged attacks from time to time. This makes nailing dodges while attacking absolutely crucial. It's a fairly simple boss, so you won't have to learn any complex mechanics.
7. Eris
Eris, Strife Incarnate, is the final boss in the Olympus path. You'll be given a massive arena to fight in and you'll need it; Eris isn't playing around. Stay mobile to dodge Eris' attacks and clear up her minions when she summons them. Outside of this, it's all about finding any opening you can get to deal damage. It's incredibly hectic and will likely take you quite a few attempts to beat, especially if you're not confident avoiding AoE attacks or playing more hit-and-run.
Well, that's all the Hades 2 bosses right now and the order in which you will encounter them. Remember, between Olympus and the Underworld, you've got plenty of bosses to master, and that's before more bosses are potentially added throughout the early access period.
