Dynasty Warriors: Origins throws you into a huge, wild world full of epic fights and slick strategies.
Even with all the madness of war, Old Coins are out there waiting to be found.
You might think these collectibles are nothing special at first, but as you get more into the game, you'll find out that Old Coins unlock some of the best rewards.
This guide will help you discover where to find these rare coins and what they’re worth in exchange.
How To Get & Use Old Coins
Collecting Old Coins in Dynasty Warriors: Origins means doing some exploring, chatting with officers, and finishing missions.
As you progress early on, you'll start encountering Old Coins scattered across the world map.
These coins are small glowing spots, and using the Eyes of the Sacred Bird ability helps you find them from far off.
As you progress and open up new regions, you’ll find more Old Coins lying around, mostly near major battles or places where major objectives happen.
Another trick for getting Old Coins is bonding with the officers you run into.
You can also earn Old Coins by taking part in bond cutscenes, which appear when you spot a handshake icon above an officer’s model on the world map.
Doing officer requests (those with scroll icons) is another easy way to earn Old Coins.
These quests are quick and easy, but they pay off, usually giving you 3 Old Coins when you finish.
Besides talking to officers, you can also pick up Old Coins by keeping the peace in different places.
As you do missions, skirmishes, and officer tasks, the peace level in the area will slowly go up.
Once the peace level’s high enough, swing by the waypoint to pick up your Old Coins and other items.
Before you go, check any letters you receive at inns, as they may contain Old Coins.
Once you have a good amount of Old Coins, you can use them to claim valuable rewards.
To do this, just head to the Shui Jing Retreat in You Province.
It will open up after you finish battles like the Suppression of You Province and the Suppression of Jing Province in Chapter 2.
When you visit the Shui Jing Retreat, Sima Hui or Pang Tong will be there to let you swap your Old Coins for different rewards.
The rewards are split into tiers, depending on how many coins you've earned.
Here are the rewards you can get depending on how many Old Coins you have:
- 5 Old Coins: 1,000 Gold
- 10 Old Coins: Ravenous Spirit Amulet (Accessory)
