Caves in Satisfactory are subterranean areas scattered across the map that contain valuable resources and sometimes hidden treasures. They offer a change in environment from the open-world, factory-building gameplay, introducing darker, more confined spaces that require exploration.
You'll find glowing Power Slugs, Uranium nodes, Quartz veins, and rare items like Mercer Spheres. Our guide will show you how to quickly locate all cave entrances and maximize your resource gathering.
How To Find All Cave Entrances Fast in Satisfactory
The Satisfactory Interactive Map (part of the Satisfactory Calculator tool) is one of the fastest ways to pinpoint all cave entrances in the game. This lets you visually navigate the map, showcasing key features such as cave locations, resource nodes, and blocked entrances that need specific tools.
The Satisfactory Calculator offers much more than an interactive map. It also provides tools to help players optimize factory designs, calculate production rates, manage resource chains, and plan builds effectively.
You can zoom into any region, filter for cave entrances, and even see resource types inside the caves. Here’s how to use it:
- Visit Satisfactory Interactive Map.
- Filter by "Caves" to highlight all entrances.
- The map shows exact coordinates and cave types (blocked by rocks, foliage, etc.).
This can guide you to entrances that natural elements like foliage or waterfalls may otherwise obscure. Equipping the right tools is equally essential for gaining access to these caves, so make sure you have the following:
- Chainsaw - Required to clear foliage blocking some entrances. Unlocked in Tier 2's Obstacle Clearing Milestone.
- Explosives - Rocks blocking certain caves require explosives, unlocked through Sulfur Research in the MAM.
- Gas Mask - Some caves contain poison gas or radiation, which requires protective gear like a gas mask or hazmat suit.
Focus on high-density regions where multiple caves can be found nearby. Regions like the Grass Fields, Rocky Desert, and Northern Forest are prime areas for exploration. These areas contain several caves hidden behind waterfalls, cliffs, and dense foliage, making them easier to locate if you know the specific markers.
The caves are resource-rich and can serve as tactical shortcuts between map regions since some caves have multiple entrances.
Once you unlock the Jetpack, use it to access hard-to-reach caves on cliffs or in tricky terrain. This mobility upgrade can significantly speed up the exploration process by allowing you to scout areas from above, uncovering entrances that might be hard to see from the ground.
