Hitman 3 Recoups IO Interactive's Development Costs In Under A Week
"We have been really happy with the Hitman 3 journey," IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak explained to GamesIndustry.biz.
"It has been a labor of love between our fans and everyone at the studio. As the developer and publisher, we are immensely proud that we can say Hitman 3 is already profitable. We have recouped the total project costs in less than a week. That puts us in a really good place and allows us to confidently move forward with our ambitious plans for future projects."
As we reported earlier this week, the game topped the physical game charts, knocking Animal Crossing: New Horizons off of the top spot.
In our review, we called Hitman 3 "a confident end to a trilogy that has steadily gained in reputation with each entry".
"It’s a beautiful, dark, and frequently testing entry in a franchise that has matured over two decades, and is undoubtedly the best way to kick off 2021."
IO Interactive's next game is an original James Bond project.
