The Switch Lite is a solid option for those who want handheld-only play, but most fans would prefer Nintendo’s Switch OLED for that beautiful screen. One fan is hoping to make the best of both worlds, as they are close to making their own Switch Lite OLED and it looks cool.
Retro gaming YouTuber Taki Udon has revealed their custom-made OLED Lite model and it looks like a gorgeous handheld Nintendo should have made. Udon also shows off Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, one of the system’s best-looking games, truly revealing the potential of this unmade system.
If everything goes well, Udon will be able to give existing Switch Lite owners an OLED screen for $25-$50, which is a decent deal. Honestly, the only bad thing about this is that the service won’t be available in time for the upcoming Hyrule Switch Lite, which is absolutely gorgeous.
Even though most fans are content with the Switch OLED, maybe even the V2, but talk of the Lite began ramping up when the Hyrule Edition was shown. Revealed as part of the Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom showcase, this might just be the best-looking version of this fantastic handheld.
OLED screens have been around for a while now, with Sony’s underrated PS Vita originally using one for its original model. However, we think it’s fair to say that Nintendo’s Switch OLED made the screen really popular, which is why there are now multiple versions of this system. Valve even admitted that the Switch OLED is one of the reasons why they made a Steam Deck OLED.
With all of that being said, this upcoming Switch Lite OLED could quickly become popular in the modding scene. Just imagining this smaller and sleeker model with an OLED screen has many of us sad that Nintendo didn’t officially make it. Fans should expect modded models to come out once this becomes commonly known with tech users.
