Modern Warfare 3 players are demanding Activision delivers crossover skins that actually fit the theme of the shooter series.
Crossovers and collaborations aren't anything new in Call of Duty. Prior to Modern Warfare 3's release, the likes of Nicki Minaj and The Boys have joined forces with the franchise and with Season 1 on the horizon, fans are hoping for change.
Instead of collaborating with music artists and TV shows, fans are hoping for future crossovers to make more sense rather than adding more rappers to the ever-expanding roster of Operators. One fan has even suggested plenty of potential ideas that would fit into the Call of Duty universe.
User DisastrousBeach8087 took to Reddit with a wealth of action movie heroes that would work as playable characters in multiplayer and Warzone.
The player says: "These collabs would be so much better before Nicki Minaj." Suggestions include the likes of John Wick, Hitman's Agent 47, and James Bond. Judging by the comments, there's plenty of demand for sensible Call of Duty crossovers. Another adds: "I would pay top dollar for a Liam Neeson Operator pack."
Modern Warfare 3 skins that don't fit the theme of the game certainly look out of place but some of the more unorthodox cosmetics can still slot into the aesthetic. One player suggests: "I hope they add Johnny English." Another replies: "That's the best type of goofy that should be in CoD. The devs do visit the subreddits and listen to ideas and I hope they get some inspiration."
The next Modern Warfare 3 crossover rumoured to take place involves The Walking Dead TV series. Leaks claim skins for Rick Grimes and Michonne are on the way which is great news for those wanting to slay the undead in zombies as their favourite characters.
As for the next crossovers, we'll have to wait and see what Activision and Sledgehammer Games have up their sleeves.
