Iconic Twitch streamer Pokimane, aka Imane Anys, has quit the live streaming platform after ten years of creating content. The 27-year-old streamer is leaving the platform behind to focus on new horizons.

In a post on Twitter, Pokimane thanked her 9.3 million followers for following her career over the past decade. However, she feels that her time streaming games and other content is done.

“The end of an era,” the streamer told her fans. “Twitch has been my home for a decade. But it's time to say thank you for all the memories and love during my League, Fortnite, and Among Us days.”

Over the years, Pokimane has become one of the faces of the Twitch community. As the most followed female streamer and a co-founder of OfflineTV alongside faces like LilyPichu, she’s been a huge part of the rise of livestream content on the internet.

In 2020, Pokimane collaborated with politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, known colloquially as AOC, in a groundbreaking Among Us stream with other influencers. Last year, the streamer launched her own healthy food brand dubbed Myna.

Pokimane’s fame has even led the Twitch streamer to star in major motion pictures. In 2021, she cameoed in the Ryan Reynolds video game comedy movie Free Guy alongside Hollywood stars such as Taika Waititi and Chris Evans.

Pokimane’s Twitch retirement has resulted in a large outpouring of support from fans and even Twitch itself.

Responding to the influencer’s retirement, the official Twitch account said: “What an incredible journey it’s been. We’re so proud of everything you’ve accomplished and what’s ahead in the future. You’ll always have a home on Twitch, Poki.”

Pokimane has a number of ventures outside of streaming, including her talent management company RTS. The influencer holds the spot of Chief Creative Officer at the consultancy firm.

With a huge social media following on every platform imaginable — including TikTok and YouTube — this won’t be the last we see of the streamer.
