Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League might not be a sales success, but the devs at Rocksteady are committed to finishing their four season plan. Reports claimed that the live-service shooter would only get barebones support from here on out, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

A representative from Warner Bros. told Kotaku that Rocksteady is committed to finishing the roadmap announced a while back, even if the game failed commercially. This means that the shooter will get a few more playable characters and some story chapters, before it eventually ends.

We don’t know if four seasons will be enough to wrap up the current Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League storyline, so let’s hope for the best. It’s doubtful that this game will get a huge rework that fixes everything fans hate about the shooter, but the extra content might lead to more buys.

The current roadmap for Kill the Justice League confirms three more characters are coming, alongside three new environments to play through. Leaks and rumors have claimed that Mrs. Freeze will be added to the game, an alternate universe version of Mr. Freeze, so that should garner interest. Some insiders have also claimed that Deathstroke is coming to the game as part of an Arkham Asylum-centered season, but we’ll wait for more details.

Joker has already been added to Suicide Squad and fans think he’s a fun enough character to play in this game. While bringing in an alternate universe version of the Batman villain feels a bit cheap, most fans seem to like how he plays. Considering how the villain has been dead since Arkham City, this was the only way they could bring him back.

Rocksteady’s developers knew that Suicide Squad was going to fail, even telling the executives who ignored them. Now that the shooter has crashed and burned, Rocksteady is reportedly working on a new single-player game. Some of the devs are also working on a Hogwarts Legacy: Director’s Cut.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is readily available on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
