Sunset Overdrive is a beloved open-world game that PlayStation fans have yet to experience and it looks like they may never do so on a PS5. Developer Insomniac Games is too busy with superhero games like the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine, which is both disappointing and understandable.

On Twitter, a fan asked the company’s official account if we would ever get a port of their Xbox and PC exclusive on a PS4 or PS5. Insomniac gave a pretty honest answer, saying that they are too busy working on Wolverine so they can’t exactly bring this game to PlayStation owners.

While there don’t seem to be any rights issues surrounding the port of Sunset Overdrive, it is a shame that Insomniac have been given different priorities. No one can blame them for it since these Marvel games review and sell well, with many fans excited to play Wolverine when it comes out.

That’s not to say we’ll never get this game on PlayStation systems, but it might take longer than most fans would like. At the least, this title is on PC and more fans can enjoy it on that platform. Xbox’s backwards compatibility also means that this game should be playable for years on this series of consoles.

No one’s also going to act like they aren’t excited for Insomniac’s superhero games, since they’re incredibly fun to play. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 should be owned by every PlayStation 5 owner, since it’s a fantastic game that can only be played on that system. Sure, it will come to PC one of these days, but fans who can’t wait to get this game should pull the trigger on a PS5.

Marvel’s Wolverine also has plenty of fans excited, since it’s going to play very differently from Spider-Man. Leaks have revealed a ton of interesting details, showing that this should be another quality game.

In the meantime, Sunset Overdrive is available on Xbox Series and PC.
