Phasmophobia, if you haven't heard of it yet, where have you been?!
The viral ghost hunting game first became popular due to content creators.
Previously the developers, Kinetic Games, had plans to bring a PVP mode to the game, this was mentioned in the roadmap.

It looks like the PVP plans have since been put to rest, here's what we know.

PVP Mode Scrapped
Phasmophobia developers spoke with IGN on the addition of PVP being brought to the title.
It seems they have since decided to cancel their plans for the game mode.
Developer Dknighterto feels that bringing that mode would “turn the game into something completely different”.
He stated, “I want the game to remain 4 players vs. 1 AI, and balance the game, then add new features around that style of gameplay”.
They plan to keep the game as if for now and to work on some major bugs in the game.
This doesn't mean we won't see major content released some time soon though.
