Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX: Cubone Guide - Moveset, Evolution, Best Partner And How To Get Cubone

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX includes Cubone as one of the 12 starter Pokemon that you can choose to start with.

If this unique Kanto Pokemon is your choice in the new Mystery Dungeon game, here's our guide!

Be sure to watch our wide variety of Pokemon content here!

Cubone Guide

The Generation 1 ground-type is available as the player or partner through the main game.

Usually, Cubone is chosen if the personality results are either Lonely (for males) or Impish (for females) in nature.

It has normal mobility, meaning it cannot traverse through water, lava and cloud tiles and walls without the assistance of a mobility-enhancing item or a certain IQ skill.

As Cubone is a ground type, he will be weak to water, grass and ice type Pokemon, meaning you should pair him with a fire or electric type Pokemon such as Charmander, Cyndaquil, Torchic or Pikachu.

Evolving Cubone

Evolution does not play a massive part in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, so it is perfectly ok to keep Cubone as he is.

Although stats do not increase from evolution, moves can vary once it evolves into Marowak.

If you do wish to evolve Cubone, you will need to finish the main story and enter the Luminous Cave - be sure to check our evolution guide for more details.
