Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX includes Machop as one of the 12 starter Pokemon that you can choose to start with.
If this tough Kanto Pokemon is your choice in the new Mystery Dungeon game, here's our guide!

Machop Guide
The Generation 1 fighting-type is available as the player or partner through the main game.
Usually, Machop is chosen if the personality results are either Brave (for males) in nature.
It has normal mobility, meaning it cannot traverse through water, lava and cloud tiles and walls without the assistance of a mobility-enhancing item or a certain IQ skill.
As Machop is a fighting type, he will be weak to flying, psychic and fairy type Pokemon, meaning you should pair him with an electric type Pokemon such as Pikachu.
How To Get Machop
Machop can be chosen at the start of the game as either the player or partner.
Machop can be recruited exclusively at the Wish Cave and Buried Relic with a recruit rate of 10.5%.
You will come across a Lv11 Machop in the Wish Cave and Lv22 in the Buried Relic:
Wish Cave
- 17th floor (35.71%)
- 18-19th floor (41.67%)
- 21st-25th floor (45.45%)
Buried Relic
- 4th floor (9.31%)
- 5-8th floor (7.84%)
Evolving Machop
Evolution does not play a massive part in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, so it is perfectly ok to keep Machop as he is.
Although stats do not increase from evolution, moves can vary once it evolves into Machoke and Machamp.
If you do wish to evolve Machop, you will need to finish the main story and enter the Luminous Cave - be sure to check our evolution guide for more details.
