How to Plant Seeds

Firstly you'll want to make a Smelter, you can do so using 20 Stone and 5 Surtling Cores.

The second item mentioned can be found in the Burial Chambers in the Black Forest biome after you have defeated Eikthyr, the first boss.

If you'd like to find out how to bring him down, we have a guide on that here!

You'll want to find the tunnels leading into the earth inside of the Black Forest.

Once inside the Chambers, you can find the Surtling Cores on top of sticks.

Now that you've made a Smelter you'll want to smelt Copper Ore into 6 Copper Bars.

Along with the Copper Bars you'll want some Stone, Coal, and Wood, to craft a Forge.

Be sure to place it nearby your Workbenches.

With your new crafting station, you need to combine Copper and Tin into Bronze.

You should now have unlocked the recipe for the Cultivator, make one!

Be sure to have it equipped, right-click to bring up the menu.

Here you should see the ability to Cultivate, do so and it will turn land into farming areas.

Open up the Cultivator again and select the seeds you wish to plant, then place them on your farmed land.

You'll have to wait a few days depending on the plant to see it become an edible item, nothing happens overnight!

Valheim is the next Viking title to take Steam by storm, there are plenty of plans for the future with the 2021 roadmap. You can even set up a dedicated server and play with your friends in coop! If bosses interest you, there's already four in the game Eikthyr, the Elder, Bonemass and Modor, you'll require plenty of items along the way like the Swamp Key.
