Although Warzone players are still battling Godzilla and Kong in Operation Monarch, the Warzone 2 rumour mill is in full swing. Following an announcement from Activision in January, the only official information on the next chapter of the battle royale is that it's in development.

Despite the radio silence, leaks surrounding Warzone 2 are beginning to emerge after details from a recent test appeared through popular content creator "NerosCinema."

According to an unnamed source, Warzone players can expect major changes within Warzone 2, ranging from new ways to obtain a Loadout Drop to a new inventory system.

New Warzone 2 Leaks Emerge

In a May 16 upload, Nero shares information they've received from a source known as "J." As always, it's important to take this information with a huge pinch of salt but the changes mentioned do sound interesting.

According to the source, Loadout Drops are locked within Strongholds. In order to unlock them, objectives such as "defusing a bomb" or "infiltrating a building" will offer the loadouts as a reward. If the change is legitimate, it's unclear if random Loadout Drops will land over the course of a match. We will have to wait and see if the leaks turn out to be true.

In addition to loadout changes, Nero mentions details on a new inventory system and changes to how armour functions during a match. The YouTuber says "a bag system is going to be implemented" with all items taking up varying amounts of space. Killstreaks, grenades, and secondary weapons will appear in the bag, enabling players to prioritise which equipment they decide to use.

Alongside inventory changes, armour could function differently in Warzone 2. Nero claims players will "need a satchel to even be able to equip them in the first place," suggesting individual armour plates are a thing of the past.

Warzone 2 Highrise POI

Earlier leaks point toward several Warzone 2 points of interest (POI) will be classic multiplayer maps from 2009's Modern Warfare 2. Seemingly joining the likes of Favela and Afghan is Highrise. The classic rooftop battleground also implies the new Warzone 2 map will contain skyscrapers.

Is The Warzone 2 Leak True?

While you should take all leaks with a pinch of salt, notable leaker Tom Henderson says "a lot of this is true." Others don't seem as sure as Henderson, with fellow Call of Duty leaker 'TheGhostOfHope' saying the gameplay changes sound like the source is confused with the new DMZ mode.
