The latest Sims expansion is here, and this time it has taken us back in time to vicariously relive our high school experiences through our Sims. One such event is graduation, so here is how to graduate in Sims 4 High School Years.
School is a tumultuous and difficult time, and Sims is no different. There are weekly exams, after-school clubs and homework to juggle, new part-time jobs, and a whole host of new emotions and fears for Sims to work through.
To help our young Sims out, here are some guides on how to prank people, how to pass exams, and High School Years specific cheats. We've also ranked all of the expansion packs so far to help you pick which to buy!
How to graduate in Sims 4 High School Years
In High School Years, there is only one way to officially graduate from high school. Unlike in Discover University where it is based on semesters and exams, this pack requires your Sim to age up to Young Adult. Only then will you be offered the chance to attend graduation and get your diploma.
For those who enjoy the educational aspects of Sims 4 and are looking for academic assistance outside of the game, a custom thesis writing service can provide support with real-world school and college assignments.
How to attend graduation in Sims 4 High School Years
Once your Sim is no longer a Teen and isn't attending school, a 'High School Graduation' event will appear on the calendar, on a Sunday. If there is another event such as a birthday, that will take precedence and the graduation icon won't show, but will still be listed.
When it rolls around to Sunday at 6 PM on the day the graduation is planned, you'll need to open the calendar and click 'Go to Event' - Sims will not automatically go. You can choose who to bring with you, too.
The event doesn't have goals, or a time limit. You arrive at the auditorium with your party, and have time to socialise. Once your graduate Sim enters the building, they'll change into their outfit: this can be changed by clicking the Sim and heading to the graduation sub-menu.
Soon, the Valedictorian speech will start, and Sims will take their seats in front of the podium. After the speech is concluded, the headmaster of the school will call out Sims one by one to come up on stage and get their diploma. Once everyone has been called, that's it! You've graduated and are now a free adult. You can throw your cap, but that's the only event-specific action other than grabbing some punch or food.
Can I graduate early in Sims 4?
Interestingly, for those Sims that manage to get flying colours in their exams, there is an option to graduate early.
However, this means they end school early, and get no graduation. They can't continue their after-school activities, either. The only benefit of this option is that they get career boosts if they immediately start working - such as skipping a couple of promotions and entering at career level two or three.
