How do you heal in Alan Wake 2?
In Alan Wake 2, you'll encounter a range of healing materials as you play through the game. Ranging from painkillers and trauma pads all the way up to first-aid kits, you're able to use these items to replenish Saga and Alan's HP.
To find these healing items, you'll have to look inside various containers you'll encounter within Alan Wake 2's levels. These storage spaces include coolers, lockers, and other cabinets or cupboards where doors can be open. Keep an eye out for small button indicators that will show you which doors can be opened.
Once you've picked up a healing item, it will be added to your inventory, which you can access using Triangle on PS5, or Y on Xbox. In order to heal yourself, you'll have to select your healing item in your inventory, and then select "Use". Following this, your health will regenerate.
During difficult combat sequences, you might not have the time to enter your inventory to heal up. Before you take on a large fight, you should make sure to add healing items to your quick-select menu. Using the D-pad, you can quickly find your healing items and press the indicated button (R2 for PS5 players) to use it to replenish your health.
Keep an eye on your health bar as you play Alan Wake 2 so you know when best to use your healing items. If you're unsure where to find the health bar, look in the bottom right of your screen. There, you'll see a half-circle shape that represents the health of the character you're playing.
