Star Wars is already off to a strong 2022 and Andor is still to come. While the show hasn't aired yet, Disney might already be preparing more stories for the Rogue One star.
One of the series' stars in Stellan Skarsgård spoke to Dagens Nyheter. In the interview, the actor has let Season 2's announcement slip.
Star Wars: Andor Has Been Renewed for Season 2, Says Actor
Alongside mentioning the production start date for Dune: Part Two, Skarsgård reveals that Andor Season 2 is coming and begins filming later this year.
We start with [filming Dune: Part Two] in July. And then in the autumn, it's time for the second season of the Star Wars series Andor.
The Avengers star acknowledges that Andor is yet to premiere. But, preparation looks to be underway for more stories following the Star Wars spin-off.
I do not know when they will start broadcasting it. It will take some time so that it does not take too long between season one and season two.
Considering Andor has yet to premiere, it's a surprising reveal, one that raises questions as to where Cassian Andor's journey takes him in season 1 and beyond. That's even more considerable given that we know his eventual fate in Rogue One.
With more episodes planned, it also cements Disney+ as Star Wars' new home for the meantime. There's no end of content on the way, including Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka; and the streaming service continues to thrive in a galaxy far, far away.
