When it comes to cosmetic items, Apex Legends features a vast selection of interesting skins for each character and the entire weapon arsenal. Players dropping into Respawn Entertainment's battle royale can earn such items by completing challenges or visiting the in-game store to purchase bundles.

With Season 18 in full swing, some recent shield changes have divided player opinion, while some hardcore Apex fans have been wondering what could be behind a mysterious door in the firing range.

One of the most recent arrivals to the Apex Legends store is the Resurrection Launch Bundle. Although it contains plenty of items, players have been quick to realise the bundle costs around the same as a copy of Baldur's Gate 3.

Apex Legends bundle is same cost as triple-A release

This interesting revelation was spotted by Reddit user avskrap, who's posted a side-by-side comparison of the price of the Resurrection Launch Bundle and the popular RPG set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons.

The standard edition of Baldur's Gate 3 currently costs £49.99, while, in order to purchase the Apex Legends bundle, players need a total of 6.3k Apex Points, which works out at around the same value. Buying a pack of 6.7k Apex Points using real money typically costs £53.99, which is slightly higher than the price of Baldur's Gate.

Judging by the comments on the post, players have already made their decision as to which is the better value proposition. One player revealed: "I ditched Apex for Baldur's Gate 3 after last season, which was very disappointing."

On the other hand, some players believe the high price for some Apex Legends bundles is necessary. One argued: "While cosmetics are, I agree, grossly overpriced, money has to come from somewhere."

Ultimately, Apex Legends is a free-to-play title and in order for Respawn Entertainment to continue supporting and developing the title, the microtransactions, in theory at least, are hugely important.

Although the price tag for a cosmetic bundle is high and the same cost as an entire game, there's always going to be some players keen to buy them and expand their cosmetic collection.
