Post Malone has shared a teaser promising “two weeks of beautiful mayhem” to promote a crossover event with Apex Legends, set to begin on November 7, 2023.
The rapper and singer has previously credited Apex Legends as the game that got him 'back into gaming', and his passion for Respawn Entertainment's battle royale is clear. Post has previously played the game with several content creators and even used it as the basis for a charity livestream that raised over $200,000 in 2022.
The teaser post didn't share much about the content of the event, and comes just two months after the release of his latest album, 'AUSTIN (Bonus)'. The video accompanying the post features the musician laying on the floor like a wounded Peter Griffin, yelling "Can someone rez me?! Yo!" before the event's starting date of November 7th is shown.
Musicians collaborating with video games isn't anything new - in recent memory, we've seen Kid Cudi collaborating with Star Trek and Fortnite, and there have been record-breaking virtual concerts with stars like Ariana Grande and KSI taking to the stage in games like Fortnite and Roblox.
These events often see new limited-time cosmetics come to the game's marketplaces, so fans of Post Malone should be ready to jump on any virtual merchandise they see to remember the occasion. The Grammy Award-winning artist has also livestreamed himself playing the game on Twitch several times for over 850,000 followers, so there may be some more streams planned to celebrate the event.
The artist's love for the free-to-play game could even lead to a brand new Apex Legends-themed song, as Post has been known to create original music for the likes of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Either way, it's sure to be an event to remember!
