In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you'll likely recall waking up on Hisui's coast, being told that you fell out of the sky by Professor Laventon. To pay your keep in this ancient region, you'll then be recruited as a part of the Survey Corps and tasked with completing the Pokédex.
As you learn more about Pokémon, you'll get to know the people of Hisui, and how you came to be on their land somehow. You'll be tasked with quelling Noble Pokémon, befriending rideable Pokémon, and later, will have to grind to catch Hisui's legendary Pokémon; this includes Arceus.
Ultimately, you'll learn that Arceus, the omnipotent Pokémon who created Sinnoh, is responsible for your adventure through time and space. Yet, despite their power, you're still capable of catching Arceus if you've trained enough. In this guide, we explain how to find and catch Arceus in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
How to Get Arceus in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Before you're able to unlock and catch Arceus, you're going have to commit to a little bit of a grind in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. However, if you're enjoying the game, completing the following requirements shouldn't be too much of a task:
- Complete the main storyline of the game and witness the credits roll.
- Collect all plates and beat Giratina in battle.
- Catch at least one of all 239 Pokémon in the game (this excludes Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus).
After having completed each of these requirements, you may speak with Professor Laventon to let him know that the Pokédex is complete. After this conversation, he will send you on a new mission – Mission 27: The Defied Pokémon – which will require you to go to the Temple of Sinnoh on Mount Coronet.
Travel here, and go to the same area in which you will have previously battled with Dialga and Palkia. Then, play the Azure Flute by pressing 'A' to summon Arceus. Once summoned for battle, Arceus will be Level 75, and you will need to keep in mind that this Pokémon is a Normal-type.
Using our type-chart, we know that Normal-type Pokémon are especially weak to Steel, Ghost, and Rock-type moves. So, be sure to have someone like Gengar or Golem in your party to aid with this battle. This battle is not easy, so good luck, you may need it!
That's everything you need to know about catching Arceus in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and don't forget that you can use plates to change Arceus' type! Even if you don't use them in battle, they're still impressive to show off on occasion.
Speaking of showing off, don't forget to grab all the gift Pokémon on offer (including shiny Ponyta) and spend your hard-earned Pokédollars on some character customisation!
