Assassin's Creed Valhalla Trailer Shows Off Hidden Blade, Viking Life Away From Battlefield

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Ubisoft's next instalment in the franchise, has a new trailer showcasing the female version of protagonist Eivor, as well as her (not-so) hidden blade.

This "Soundtrack Cinematic Trailer" offers a glimpse at Viking life away from battles and conflict, and show Eivor's more human side.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: New Cinematic Trailer

Check out the trailer below:

We see Eivor letting civilians escape in the middle of a fight, while also showing our Vikings playing with the next generation of warriors in what looks to be their settlement.

Of course, it wouldn't be Assassin's Creed without a hefty dose of violence, and the trailer does show a tense scrap with a huge behemoth of a soldier, constantly blocking Eivor's attacks.

After wearing her down, he looks to his superior who motions to finish Eivor, before she skewers him with the hidden blade - something we discussed here following its absence in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.

If you're not looking to play as the female version of Eivor, don't worry - players will be able to switch the character's gender seemingly at will, meaning you can experiment to see which character you prefer.

This comes after plenty of controversy within Ubisoft, as it was revealed that Kassandra, Odyssey's female protagonist, was initially supposed to be the game's only lead character because Ubisoft higher-ups felt that "women don't sell".

We also have a pretty good idea of how we'll be slaying enemies with the hidden blade thanks to a recent gameplay leak.
