Making a custom character in any game that allows it, is a feature that many players absolutely love, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is no different. Ubisoft has naturally chosen to include a character customisation menu right from the very beginning of the game, plus there are ways to alter your Na'vi's appearance throughout.

But with this guide, we’ll break down what options you have available to you in character creation, including the good and the bad, so you know what’s in store when it comes to making your bright blue creature.

For further help with the game, check out our Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora review, as well as our tips on how to heal, how to equip armour, and how to upgrade weapons so you can ensure your Na’vi can rival what the RDA has to offer.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora character customisation explained

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora does have character customisation, which allows you to make your very own Na’vi. While some like to make their custom character a version of themselves, you naturally won’t able to do that here as there’s no humanoid element to character creation.

However, there are still a few options that you can pick from to tailor your Na’vi into something relatively unique. What we will say, though, is that the aforementioned options are pretty limited. It only really offers a select number of variations, which some may find quite lacking, particularly with the extensive amount of options for character customisation models in other games.

You are able to change up your hair, eyes, nose, mouth, ears, head shape, voice, body type, skin marks, and various colours. On the face of it, this seems like a lot, but it is the variations within that are lacklustre. There is no fine-tuning for these aspects either, simply an assortment of a bunch of preset options for you to choose from.

While this does make sense in Avatar lore since all Na’vi are quite similar in their looks, it still would have been fun to create a wacky creature, min-maxing certain areas, and potentially making the most grotesque being imaginable.

After you have created your character, you will be picking up varying amounts of gear along the way, including different clothes and armour. This means that even if the creation options are a little restrictive, you can add your personal style with these instead.

Although the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora character customisation menu is a bit restrictive, at least there is one in the game. This allows you to make a Na’vi of your own, plus you can mix things up with clothes and armour as you progress.
