Wizards unite, because the latest mobile game set in Harry Potter's magical world is upon us. Playing it isn't as straightforward as just downloading the game though, so you may want to know how to play the Harry Potter Magic Awakened beta right now. In something of a beta stage, the path to living the perfect Hogwarts life is slightly confusing.
In this guide, we'll go through how you can play the Harry Potter Magic Awakened APK, and how this early stage of the game's western rollout works. On top of that, we'll explain how the beta process works, in case you want to play the game without fiddling around with emulators, while also looking at a few important beta details.

How Do I Sign Up For the Harry Potter Magic Awakened Beta?
Luckily, signing up for the Harry Potter Magic Awakened beta is a nice and easy process. That said, simply signing up for the beta isn't enough to guarantee that you'll be accepted, and get that illustrious early access.
To be in with a chance of playing a beta build of the game, all you need to do is sign up for pre-registration. That can be done by entering your email on the official website, and you should get a message confirming it.
Not only will pre-registering give you a chance of playing the beta, but there are cumulative community rewards at stake. Once 500,000 people pre-register, each player will get a Nimbus 2000 card as a bonus, so there's no harm in signing up.
Sadly, there's no way to boost your chances of being picked for the beta. It's as simple as plugging in your email and hoping you get lucky. Just to reiterate, this beta is only available on Android, so iOS players are unable to join in on the fun.
How to Play the Harry Potter Magic Awakened Beta on Android or Emulator
If you want to get in on the Harry Potter Magic Awakened action but you aren't in the beta, you can always use an APK. It's a slightly lengthier process that requires some fiddling with downloads, but it's a guaranteed way to get going without waiting on beta access from the Google Play Store pre-registration.
Here's the method we used to install the Harry Potter Magic Awakened beta to an Android phone and an emulator:
Android Phone
- Head to a reputable APK repository site like APKPure
- Download their installer app and enable third-party installs on your phone to install it
- Download the Harry Potter Magic Awakened APK from the site
- Use the app to install the APK
- Play!
PC/Mac
- On PC/Mac, download and install an Android emulator like Bluestacks 5 (older versions seem to have graphical issues)
- Use the right-sidebar to create and launch a 64-bit instance of the emulator
- Drag the Harry Potter Magic Awakened APK into the emulator to install it
- Launch it from the 64-bit instance
- Play!
The method for installing the Harry Potter Magic Awakened beta APK depends on what device you're trying to install it to - a physical Android phone, or a PC/Mac running an Android emulator.
On the former, it's a case of downloading the file from a trustworthy APK site and installing it as a third-party app (which can sometimes require toggling a setting on your phone). In our case, we downloaded an XAPK file from APKPure, which required their own app to install correctly. The process was painless and worked just fine, but don't risk it if you just don't trust third-party installers.
On an emulator, it was just a matter of installing Bluestacks 5, creating a 64-bit instance within it, and installing the Harry Potter Magic Awakened beta from the APKPure file. From there, we could launch it with no issues. Older versions of Bluestacks presented magic graphical issues, but we can't confirm whether or not other emulators (like NoxPlayer) work as well.
How Can I Play Harry Potter Magic Awakened Beta on iPhone, iPad, or iOS?
At the moment, there is no way to play Harry Potter Magic Awakened on iOS devices. The early beta, where you can test the game out prior to its launch later this year, is active for Android only.
On top of that, it should be noted that in terms of using an APK, there's no way to currently play Harry Potter Magic Awakened on iOS. Players seeking to enjoy the card-battling frolics of Magic Awakened on their iPhone or iPad will have to wait until the game launches.
Will Data Be Wiped After the Harry Potter Magic Awakened Beta?
Sadly, no data will be carried over from the Harry Potter Magic Awakened beta. Instead of a fully-fledged early access model, this beta is very much limited-time only. Once the beta closes around February 24, any progress you've made will sadly be lost.
There's no indication that you'll be able to claw it back once the game goes live either, so try not to get too attached to the data you build up during the beta. This applies to both the beta and the APK sadly, so it's a rather temporary process.
