Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 promises to give fans another quality campaign after Modern Warfare 3 disappointed single-player fans. While this new campaign won’t be too long, it is a Call of Duty single-player mode after all, Activision Blizzard is promising plenty of variety in that timeframe.

Yale Miller, the production director of Treyarch, told Game File that fans will get the typical CoD campaign length for this installment. Although Miller didn’t reveal the exact length of this mode, a typical campaign runtime for this series lasts around 4 to 6 hours.

While Black Ops 6 campaign won’t be very long, Miller did promise that it would have a ton of variety, giving players a ton of exciting set-pieces. This probably means we won’t get any reused maps from Warzone, which was the main reason why fans hated Modern Warfare 3’s barebones single-player.

"They don't want one note for your experiences. Luckily for us, Black Ops kind of lends itself to that, where you can do your heist missions, and your puzzle-solving and stealth and your big military incursions as well…While they want a lot of freedom, and they want a lot of variety…they also want to get taken on the roller coaster rides as well," Miller said. "I think a big goal for us all is just to give players the opportunity to be smart, where you're not just taking them on this journey the whole time, where they have the opportunity to explore and decide how they want to get through a situation."

In an era where fans want bang for their buck, asking them to pay $70 for a 6-hour campaign might sound a bit much. Thankfully, most fans will be buying Black Ops 6 for the multiplayer carnage they can have with friends. At the least, this campaign actually looks pretty good and should set a standard for upcoming games.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is coming to PS5, Xbox Series, and PC on October 25.
