Who would've thought players would jump off diving boards and score a kill in 2024? Call of Duty's latest Black Ops 6 has just given its players a taste of the classic Treyarch tradition: fully functional diving boards.
These fantastic jump boosters are excellent for getting a ridiculous height advantage over your enemies. One particular Black Ops 6 fan finally discovered these diving boards from Treyarch that have been present ever since Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
Originally posted on Reddit by user u/Venomborn, they shared a clip of them jumping on a diving board before scoring a kill against the enemy team. They were so amused with the functional diving board in a Call of Duty game that they wished for the dev who implemented it to find a random $100 bill in their jacket pocket. Treyarch made a deep dive (thanks to their diving boards, that's for sure) into the community forum and replied to the post, saying that their design team had been continuing the rich tradition of functional diving boards since Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Fans who love the game were enthusiastic about what Treyarch is doing in Black Ops 6. Treyarch has been co-developing the franchise along with many other studios since 2015, but they have been making Call of Duty games since 2005, making them one of the primary developers of the franchise. The simple yet lighthearted diving boards in their games show how the studios' designers put a nice little touch and attention to detail, which many game studios nowadays tend to overlook.
Unfortunately, as with any other gaming community, people will have something toxic to say in forums, and the Treyarch community manager took the flak from some community members who disliked the maps that the Black Ops 6 design team had created. Supportive fans were quick to point out that the design team and community management team are two different teams. Go figure.
Regardless, these little things like diving boards make many community members enthusiastic, and it is still valid to have a differing opinion about the state of the game. It's up to Treyarch and the rest of the development team to create the best Call of Duty game ever.
