With Season 2 for Black Ops 6 and Warzone nearing its January 28 launch, Activision has debriefed almost everything coming to the shooter ahead of its fast-approaching release.
The game's second season is packed with new introductions for multiplayer, but Warzone players have to continue kicking their heels. Verdansk won't arrive until Season 3, and Season 2 is focused more on "improving" than adding new things.
That said, here's everything coming in Call of Duty Black Ops 6, Warzone, and Zombies with Season 2.
Black Ops 6 Season 2 Multiplayer Content
Headlining the new additions in Season 2 for Black Ops 6 are five multiplayer maps and four new modes. Of course, in the usual style, not all will be available from the get-go, and some will come in-season with the Reloaded update.
Below is the breakdown for each of these additions.
Maps
While three of the five maps will be available from the start of the season, the other two will be added mid-season. Here are all five maps as well as their layout.

Dealership

Modes
The fan-favorite Gun Game is returning to Black Ops 6 with the Season 2 update, as well as new modes that aren't exactly unique but rather fun twists to the core modes.
Overdrive
Overdrive will be available on launch and is essentially TDM with a twist. Although you will get "stars" for elimination, different eliminations will net different points: one star for basic eliminations, two for core medal eliminations like headshots and melee attacks, and three for completing distinguished medal eliminations.
Stacking these stars will fetch different buffs like wall hacks, movement speed, and improved accuracy.
Gun Game
Gun Game is a staple Call of Duty mode present in almost all titles in the series. It is a free-for-all mode where everybody starts with the same gun, usually a pistol, and cycles to 20 different guns after each kill. The first player to complete its 20-guns cycle wins.
Limited-time modes
Two limited-time Valentine-themed modes are coming to Black Ops 6 in mid-Season 2. Third Wheel Gunfight is a 3v3 Gunfight mode where you'll be accompanied by an "untethered friend" and Couples Dance Off is a 2v2 Moshpit.
New Equipments
- Slipstream (Perk): Raises your base sprint speed at the cost of removing Tac Sprint.
- Hunter’s Instinct (Perk): Eliminating an enemy marks the next closest enemy. Release Mid-Season.
- Flyswatter (Wildcard): Allows a player to replace their Dedicated Melee weapon with a Launcher. Release Mid-Season.
- War Machine (Scorestreak): Powerful burst-fire grenade launcher with grenades that explode on impact. Large magazine.
Weapons
Six weapons will be released during Season 2 for both Black Ops 6 and Warzone. While four have already been announced, the remaining two will be available in the Reloaded update.
- PPSh-41 (SMG) (Available On Launch)
- Cypher 091 (AR) (Available On Launch)
- Feng 82 (LMG) (Available On Launch)
- TR2 (Marksman Rifle) (Available On Launch)
QoL Changes
Challenge Tracking & Near Completion (MP and Zombies)
- Manually track up to 10 Calling Card Challenges and 10 Camo Challenges per mode to easily keep track of Challenges you’re progressing.
- If you have fewer than 10 Calling Card Challenges or 10 Camo Challenges tracked, your nearest Challenges to completion will display in those slots instead. This should help players discover and identify Challenges they are close to completing.
- The top Tracked or Near Completion Calling Card Challenge and Camo Challenge both appear in the Lobby, as well as in-game via the Options Menu.
Unique HUD Presets per mode (MP and Zombies)
- Players will be able to set the HUD Preset settings they prefer for both Multiplayer and Zombies, keeping a unique setup per-mode without needing to change settings when switching between modes.
General Quality of Life updates
- Reduced collision with teammates to improve maneuverability around tight spaces and doorways with nearby teammates.
- Weapon balance pass and bullet penetration updates.
- Further reducing weapon motion when jumping, sliding, and diving with the Dexterity Perk equipped.
- Improving player visibility in Kill Confirmed by reducing the height of dog tags on the map.
- Simplifying and/or expanding requirements for several Calling Card Challenges, as well as fixing bugged Challenges.
- Expanding the number of Featured Playlist slots to allow for more marquee playlists on the main menu.
Outside of this, the anti-cheat will also receive an update in Season 2. Cheating has been a major problem this season, and the anti-cheat is said to receive kernel-level driver and brand-new server-side protections. Just how effective it'll be remains to be seen.
Warzone Season 2 Content
While the multiplayer has plenty to check out, Season 2 for Warzone is looking very paltry. It was already announced before that the focus this time is going to be on "gameplay tuning, adding more quality of life improvements, and addressing ongoing bugs."
Activision didn't have a massive list of QoLs but promised changes across the board. Weapon reload and swap speeds, jump mechanics, parachute transitions, and audio clarity are said to receive an improvement. Bugs around map visibility, weapon interaction, and several perks will get patch-ups, as well as many adjustments to Ranked Play.
Outside of these, we're getting two perks:
- Reactive Armor (Slot 2): Your armor will regenerate up to 50% if you haven’t taken damage in the last 5 seconds.
- Low Profile (Slot 1): You are able to move more quickly while crouched and prone. Move slightly faster when downed.
Black Ops 6 Zombies Season 2 Content
The biggest addition for Zombies in Black Ops 6 is the new map, The Tomb. Here is a quick rundown of all other content coming to Zombies, as Activision detailed in their blog post.
- New Enemy: Shock Mimic
- Wonder Weapon: Staff of Ice
- Main Quest and Quest Rewards: The Main Quest for The Tomb goes live with Season 02. Complete it to earn the “X91 Ice-Pike” Wonder Weapon Skin — a Project Janus facsimile of the “Staff of Ice” — as well as 5,000 XP and a unique Calling Card awarded to players who complete the Main Quest before Directed Mode is released for The Tomb.
- Arrow Trap: Activate the Arrow Trap to send out darts of damaging energy from the wall.
- Aetheric Lanterns: Dark Aether chandeliers and light sources give off a pale glow over their surroundings. With the correct projectile and aiming confidence, you can use these dynamic hazards to rain down Aetheric fire, damaging anything that shambles through the flames.
- Additional Perk-a-Cola: Death Perception.
- New GobbleGums: Dead Drop (Epic), Modified Chaos (Legendary), and Quacknarok (Whimsical).
- QoL changes: Co-Op Pause, AFK Kick Loadout Recovery.
Those were all the content coming to Black Ops 6 and Warzone with the Season 2 update. Outside of these, expect the usual Battle Passes—Vortex as the BlackCell Operator, accompanied by Battle Pass Operator Nocturn.
