How The Book of Boba Fett Sets Up The Mandalorian Season 3
Fett's season finale sees Grogu make his decision following Luke Skywalker's proposition. The action is broken up by Baby Yoda and The Mandalorian's warm embrace. After the Syndicate is defeated and Boba returns to ruling as the daimyo, they both ride off into space in a shiny new spaceship.
It may seem like a happy ending, but the previous Fett episodes have hinted at what could come next.
Djarin is still new to using the Darksword. Even in the final moments of the Fett, he just about sliced up the Scorpenek droids, while also expressing how heavy it was in episode 5. Mando will probably go about his own Jedi training in order to become more accustomed to the weapon and specialise in its mobility.
However, it won't be an easy lesson as Bo-Katan Kryze is still after the sword. Instead of being given the saber by creed, the item was apparently gifted to her. As per Mandalore, Djarin can't simply hand the sword away, but must be defeated in combat. It's almost certain that Bo-Katan will return to claim what's hers.
With Mandalore in ruins, it's also likely a new leader could be appointed. Focusing on the rebuilding of the culture and its land could very much be a focal point of Season 3 - could Din Djarin be their next leader? We'll have to wait and see.
