Although fans of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 are loading into the Season 3 Reloaded update, attention is already starting to move towards what the next instalment of the shooter franchise has in store.
Despite a number of Black Ops teasers appearing in multiplayer, official information on Call of Duty 2023 remains a mystery, much to the curiosity of fans wondering if rumours of another Modern Warfare title are accurate.
The most recent leak surrounding the next game has uncovered a potential reveal date and although information is slim, the reveal isn’t far away.
When is the Call of Duty 2023 reveal?
According to an Insider Gaming report from notable Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson, the reveal for the next Call of Duty title will take place at the beginning of August.
The report also states the first look at the next annual release will appear as part of an in-game event. Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard were both revealed through an in-game event within Warzone 2 while Modern Warfare 2 was showcased as part of the COD Next event.
Current rumours suggest Sledgehammer Games is spearheading the development of CoD 2023, which will act as a sequel to Modern Warfare 2. This wouldn’t be the first time Sledgehammer has worked on the Modern Warfare series having developed the majority of Modern Warfare 3.
Call of Duty 2023 release date
Although August is a while away, leaks have revealed Call of Duty 2023 is set to launch on November 10, 2023, following two beta weekends taking place in mid-October. Considering the current Modern Warfare cycle isn’t going down well with fans, is another title with the same setting the right step forward? Only time will tell.
