- Black Ops 6 has been teased with a new ARG marketing campaign
- A new “The Truth Lies” website shows the first proper look at Black Ops 6’s new storyline
- The game’s teaser does lean towards the 90s setting leaked last year
A new ARG has been launched for Call of Duty: 2024, all but confirming the existence of Black Ops 6. Set wild on a brand-new website, fans can see a wild new advertising stunt for the next CoD games.
Fans of the long-running shooter series discovered a new website that shows a CRT television that plays a video. At the time of writing, only one video is live, but pressing the virtual channel buttons shows that six videos will be unveiled over time.
In the one video currently available, you can see a team of agents scaling Mount Rushmore, saying: “It’s time to wake him up.” At the end of the video, the heads of the iconic American monument are covered with the phrase: “The Truth Lies.”
The agents seen in the video also boast the Cerebus logo found by CoD dataminers in Modern Warfare 3 updates. With a CoD 2024 event likely occurring in Modern Warfare 3 Season 4, we should expect to learn more about the team soon.
Previously assumed to be called Black Ops Gulf War, this new teaser website is one-hundred-percent related to the new CoD game. Currently, it’s believed that the game will be Black Ops 6, especially as new Modern Warfare events are adding weapons from the Black Ops series in celebration.
At the time of writing, the actual setting of the game isn’t known, but we can assume that the previous Cold War leaks are on the money. While the footage in this teaser is higher quality than you’d expect from the Gulf War settings, the CRT display does echo the 90s era of the real-world conflict.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, or Black Ops Gulf War, will be officially revealed at an Xbox Showcase next month. On June 9, 2024, Activision will unveil the first ever gameplay of the next Call of Duty game for Xbox, PC and PlayStation. It’s expected to only release for current gen consoles.
