Black Ops 6 includes various enemy types in its Zombies mode, one being a heavily armored boss known for its massive size and unique abilities.
The Mangler ranks among the toughest foes you'll encounter, but intriguingly, players can temporarily transform into this enemy. This article explains how to become the Mangler and use its powerful abilities in the game.
How To Turn Into Mangler in Black Ops 6 Zombies
To become a Mangler in Black Ops 6 Zombies, you must obtain and use the Mutant Injection.
You can acquire the Mutant Injection in multiple ways, all of which demand some effort and a touch of luck. The first option involves taking down the Mangler, which can sometimes drop the Mutant Injection.
Even though it's a random drop, it tends to appear more frequently as you progress to higher rounds. Another method is to complete S.A.M. Challenges, which offer rewards such as the Mutant Injection as you progress.
You can also attempt to open the safety deposit boxes in the Liberty Falls bank vaults, as these boxes may sometimes hold the injection. However, this is a less consistent way to obtain it.
After reaching level 39, you can buy the Mutant Injection from any Crafting Table for 2,500 Salvage for a more reliable method. This option gives you more control over when to use the injection as long as you’ve gathered enough resources.
Once the Mutant Injection is in your inventory, using it is simple. Press Down on the D-Pad (or three on the keyboard) to inject yourself and trigger the transformation.
During this phase, you’re invulnerable to damage while the change occurs. When the transformation completes, you enter a third-person perspective and gain access to several powerful abilities.
As a Mangler, you are equipped with the Mangler Cannon, which has infinite ammo and can fire powerful shots that pierce through multiple zombies. This weapon requires a short charge-up between shots but is highly effective for crowd control.
In addition to the cannon, the Mangler form also gives you a melee attack that is especially useful in close quarters. The charging sprint ability also allows you to barrel through groups of zombies, turning you into a wrecking ball during tight situations.
Upon transforming, an Area of Effect (AoE) blast also pushes back any nearby zombies, giving you space to start using your new abilities.
Since the transformation lasts only 45 seconds, using the Mutant Injection wisely is essential.
The best time to use it is when you're overwhelmed, such as in high-intensity rounds or boss fights.
The Mangler's AoE blast and powerful ranged attacks are ideal for handling large groups of zombies, but it may struggle against bosses like other Manglers and Abominations.
Once the effect wears off, you revert to your normal form, so make sure you’ve cleared enough zombies to prevent being swarmed after the change ends.
Pairing the Mangler transformation with other support items, such as Self-Revives or ARC-XD drones, can extend your survival time and help deal additional damage to tough enemies.
