The Call of Duty franchise is no stranger to a crossover. Whether it's Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone, Activision is joining forces with the world of TV, movies, and comic books on a regular basis.

Season 6 of multiplayer and the battle royale is well underway. The latest seasonal update introduced a wealth of Halloween skins featuring plenty of recognisable characters in addition to a Diablo collaboration where players can load into the action as Lilith and Inarius.

A new season beginning often results in a number of leaks and this season is no different. The most recent leak has seemingly revealed the next crossover on its way in a future update.

Call of Duty Dune crossover leaks

According to notable leaker @leakers141, Call of Duty will join forces with Warner Bros.' hugely successful Dune movie.

Found within the files of Modern Warfare 2, a Dune Part Two Sardaukar Pack complete with weapon blueprints and an Operator skin that resembles a spacesuit. Judging by the comments, there's plenty of excitement. One player says: "When is this available? This is dope."

To add further fuel to the fire, several players managed to spot a now-removed loading screen which featured an image of Arrakis, the home of the Fremen, where most of the books and movies are set.

There's every chance the files were planned to be released alongside Dune: Part Two, which was originally set to release on November 3, 2023. But, with the movie now dropping on March 15, 2024, it's unclear whether the Call of Duty collaboration will ever see the light of day.

Of course, the crossover could take place during the Modern Warfare 3 cycle so we'll have to wait and see what Activision plans on doing.

As always, it's important to take leaks with a pinch of salt until Call of Duty's publisher shares more intel.
