Call of Duty: Warzone, the name of the Modern Warfare Battle Royale, will land on PS4, Xbox One and PC on the 10th March.
The game is a free-to-play spin-off which offers 150-player matches and is sure to be popular.
While the PS5 vs Xbox Series X war continues, one thing they could have in common is the new Call of Duty battle royale.
Could the game come to PS5 and Xbox Series X?
Call of Duty: Warzone – Could It Come To PlayStation 5 And Xbox Series X?
With so many live-service titles like Destiny 2, Rainbow Six: Siege and The Division 2, as well as plenty of free-to-play ones like Warframe, Apex Legends and, of course, Fortnite, there's a good chance many games will be making the jump to next generation.
With that in mind, it seems crazy to think that Activision would jump into the free-to-play battle royale market and not have a plan to move the ecosystem to both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
Of course, we don't know anything for sure yet (and Sony remains surprisingly quiet about their next console), but we'll update this as soon as we hear anything.
Considering it will be a standalone game, it would be surprising to see it not feature on next-generation consoles.
If it isn't in the plans and it proves to be popular, you could see a lot of consumers NOT upgrade so they can continue to play their favourite game.
With the Battle Royale releasing so late into the Modern Warfare season and the many rumoured complications with COD 2020, it's hard to see a battle royale arrive in the new COD - meaning Warzone is here to stay for the long haul.
