Is Time Travel Coming To Warzone?

The first cinematic trailer for Season Two of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone has been released.

While the trailer contains a heavy focus on the new content arriving to Black Ops Cold War multiplayer, there are a few mentions of Verdansk as a kidnapped Adler is heading there to meet Stitch.

Other than that, there is little information as to what is arriving to the popular battle royale during Season Two.

Despite this, there’s an interesting theory doing the rounds suggesting that some form of time travel could be utilised to unveil the next chapter of the Warzone storyline.

Here’s everything we know about time travel being used within Warzone.

Time Travel In Warzone

The theory of time travel within the Warzone storyline was first discussed by popular Call of Duty leaker @ModernWarzone.

First mentioned all the way back in August 2020, they suggest that some form of transition involving a Cold War-themed vehicle could be utilised to turn back the clock and reveal an older iteration of Verdansk.

The leaker also suggests that the nuclear missile housed inside Bunker 10 has been there since the Cold War which is why players are unable to access the bunker.

Could this be how Raven Software and Activision are planning on revealing a brand-new Warzone map?

Zombies?

Another interesting theory that doesn’t involve time travel has also emerged, implying that a possible Dark Aether breach in Verdansk could decide the fate of the Warzone map.

As players attempt to prevent the breaches by taking part in the heavily-rumoured Outbreak mode, they fail to do so, leaving the undead to take control of the entire map, leaving only one option to stop the spread.

By detonating the nuclear missile, putting a halt to the Dark Aether breach, and the current iteration of Verdansk, the new map could well be what remains of the map.

With the rumoured release of a new Warzone map arriving on March 10th to mark the first anniversary of the battle royale, we will have to wait and see what Raven Software and Activision have in store!
