While many GTA fans are still coming to terms with the lack of GTA 6 news on December 27, some are already creating bigger cities in GTA 5.
One recent mod ports the ENTIRE Liberty City from GTA 4 into GTA 5, allowing you and your friends to explore the city together.
Called the "Liberty City Preservation Project," this GTA 5 mod makes Liberty City fully functional in GTA 5. The mod includes fully operational subways, an authentic traffic system, and a functional map that provides adequate travel information when exploring Liberty City.
Pedestrians are also much more interactive, with many opening their umbrellas when it rains. If you think it's just a simple NPC response to the weather, you'd be surprised that this feature never existed in GTA 5. It's fun to see NPCs interacting with something as simple as rain.

The mod also features a seamless transition between Los Santos and Liberty City. Just use an airport marker or switch characters and you are back in the original GTA V city. However, for players who plan to use the mod on FiveM, the mod completely replaces Los Santos and Liberty City will be the only available location due to some FiveM limitations.
The free mod can be downloaded via the World Travel Discord server, the team behind the Liberty City Preservation Project. Avid modders can also make modifications to the mod.
While the mod is amazing in itself, many fans are still curious as to whether GTA IV quests and other interactive locations will also be added. World Travel confirmed via their FAQ that the mod is still a work in progress so fans who are looking for any other missing features will have to wait.
In the meantime, World Travel provides instructions should you plan to use this mod with your friends in FiveM.
GTA 6 may be a long way and 2025 has just started. If you feel that you need to have something new in GTA 5, then this mod is perfect for you. Meanwhile, be sure to stay updated with the latest gaming news and stories by following Gfinity Esports.
