Crash Bandicoot is one of the longest-running franchises in all of gaming. The first Crash Bandicoot game was released in 1996 for PlayStation consoles. Since then, 24 unique Crash Bandicoot games have been released on different consoles.

Even though the Crash Bandicoot games have had a few different developers over the years, each game has gained significant popularity. Therefore, even though some sceptics believe Crash Bandicoot 5 will never get the official release, you can be sure that it's only a matter of time.

Currently, the Crash Bandicoot series is developed by Toys for Bob. The team includes approximately 100 developers.

The first valuable rumours about Crash Bandicoot 5 appeared on the internet in June 2022. During the Windows Central Gaming Xbox Chaturdays podcast, Jez Corden, one of the main Xbox insiders, argued that Toys for Bob was actively developing the new Crash Bandicoot game. Even though there was no confirmation that it would be the fifth Crash game, there is a high chance that the team is working on the continuation of the legendary series.

A few months after that, reliable leakers also confirmed that Toys for Bob is working on Crash Bandicoot 5. Even though leaks are not the best source of information in the gaming industry, the match of leaks and official insiders’ comments are a good indicator that the game will likely be released soon.

At the 2022 Game Awards, it was announced that a new game in the series, Crash Team Rumble, was in development at Toys for Bob. Rather than a mainline entry, this is a MOBA, with team-based combat. It's unclear whether this eclipses a proper fifth entry, but it seems to be the main Crash game for now.

Multiplayer mode

Even though multiplayer modes are very common in games now, it looks more like the alternative option for co-op in some single-player focused titles. You can invite your friends and simultaneously be on the same level. People want to see this sort of co-op gameplay in a future Crash Bandicoot game.

More side character missions

After the success of side missions in Crash Bandicoot 4, many people expect to see more side missions in Crash Bandicoot 5. It is a perfect break from traditional gameplay.

Side character missions significantly diversify the gameplay, and make the game more interesting. Therefore, players hope to see more such missions in Crash Bandicoot 5. Moreover, adding more interactions between the side characters and the main hero is a good option. We may even get more levels where you play as a supporting character instead of Crash.

More content

More content is one of the most widespread and complex requirements for Crash Bandicoot 5. People expect to see new bosses, system updates, alternative quests, and other exciting additions in Crash Bandicoot 5. There's no such thing as too much platforming!

Bug fixes

In Crash Bandicoot 4 and other titles, various bugs could run rampant without being fixed. Even though most hardened players get used to such glitches, facing them might significantly worsen the experience for new players. Therefore, we all hope that Toys for Bob will fix all these bugs in the future. Moreover, it is necessary to test the game and release it without additional bugs and glitches.

Shorter levels

The last extremely important request for Crash Bandicoot 5 is to make levels in this game shorter. Simple games are trendy nowadays, and more rewarding to play through. Most people would like 60 fun levels instead of 30 long ones in Crash Bandicoot 5.
