The Cyberpunk 2077 1.2 update release date might still be a ways off, but CD Projekt RED recently offered a glimpse at how the long-awaited patch will improve some of the game's rougher edges.
Several CD Projekt RED development members offered brief overviews of the 1.2 patch’s contents in a new N54 news segment on the game’s official website.
Note this “What’s New in Night City” segment is just a high-level overview of a few 1.2 patch notes and doesn’t include every bug fix or problem the patch will address.
Cyberpunk 2077 received criticism for NPC spawning positions, police activity, and how difficulties with car steering, among (many) other complaints, though it seems Cyberpunk's 1.2 patch is set to address several of these issues and more.

Night City’s police force was (in)famous for spawning behind players too quickly, assuming they bothered to show up at all.
The 1.2 patch will decrease the spawn-behind-your-back issue, CDPR’s lead gameplay designer and technical coordinator both said, though it will apparently continue to happen in some cases.
However, the update adds police drones to Night City.
These drones will patrol areas after crimes are reported, so it seems as if the police are responding even while their actual response time remains the same.
V might be Night City’s best merc, but that didn’t mean they had good driving skills.
CDPR said one common feedback complaint was increased car death brought on by difficult-to-control steering, which was itself the product of low framerates.
Cyberpunk 2077’s 1.2 patch stabilizes steering speed and adjusts certain cars’ less than desirable handling tendencies, including the Archer Hella.
Cars will be easier to right if they get turned over as well.
Finally, Cyberpunk’s 1.2 update will resolve a key binding issue where players inadvertently dodged — and fell to their deaths.
CDPR’s tools programmer said “Dodge on double-tapping a movement key can be turned off in the Controls settings. The Dodge action can still be performed by double-tapping the Crouch(toggle) action key (default C). It should now be more feasible to move WASD bindings around the keyboard.”
Of course, this is just the first major Cyberpunk 2077 patch CD Projekt RED has planned. The 1.3 patch will be even bigger whenever it releases.
