Cyberpunk 2077: How CD Projekt Red Brought Rock Legends Samurai To Night City

CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most highly-anticipated games of the year.

Expectations are high after the developer's release of Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 2015.

The title is still considered one of the most impressive open-world RPG's to date.

But the question is, can Cyberpunk live up to its predecessor?

CD Projekt RED have certainly been delivering on the teaser content before the game's release.

A recent video delves into the music of the game and how they have brought it to life.

Becoming Samurai

CD Projekt RED's choice to use Refused to bring Samurai to life is such an interesting and exciting concept.

Lead Vocalist of Refused, Dennis Lyxzen, stated "Working together with CD PROJEKT RED, writing music and song lyrics for Cyberpunk’s chrome rock icon was fun, but also very different in the creative sense... it was an unexpected challenge that turned out to be right up our alley and really got us going.

It must have been such a strange experience for the members of Refused in a creative sense.

It's not every day you create music for another band to perform, even if that band only exists in a virtual sense.

Refused not only fits the sound of Samurai, but they also project a similar message to the band.

As Lyxzen states, "Like us, SAMURAI is a group of rebels, albeit in a different time and place".

This level of effort and attention detail is uncommon in most RPG's.

However, it's these features that separate a good RPG from a great RPG.

It's fair to say excitement for the game is at an all-time high.

Start the countdown, November is on the horizon.
