Cyberpunk 2077 Has Now Been Delisted From The PlayStation Store For 2 Months

If you could travel back in time to October 27, you'd be told that Cyberpunk 2077, one of the most anticipated titles of a console generation, would be delayed again.

The devs noted at the time that "since Cyberpunk 2077 evolved towards almost being a next-gen title somewhere along the way, we need to make sure everything works well and every version runs smoothly", pushing the game's final release date to December 10 – a date that they stuck to.

Unfortunately, that launch was met with uproar. While the PC version of the game had drawn plenty of plaudits, the game launched in a horrendous state on last-gen consoles and was borderline unplayable. CD Projekt Red began offering refunds, and the game was delisted from the PlayStation Store – a quite unprecedented move.

Cyberpunk 2077 Has Now Been Delisted From The PlayStation Store For 2 Months

But you, a clued-in reader of Gfinity.net, already knew all that, right? Why am I writing about it now?

Tomorrow, February 18, marks two entire calendar months since the game was delisted – and it still isn't back. The only path for PlayStation players to pick up Cyberpunk 2077 is by buying a physical copy.

To its credit, CDPR has continued to roll out patches.

Early hotfixes attempted to tweak performance and visuals on the PS4 and Xbox One, while 1.06 improved memory management to prevent crashes that were all too regular.

1.1 bought more fixes for crashes on all platforms, while the other half of the planned patches, version 1.2, is slated to land this month.

Of course, CDPR will undoubtedly want the game back on the store as soon as is possible, suggesting the 1.2 patch will essentially act as a chance to regain some ground in consumer (and Sony's) minds.

Even Microsoft, who partnered with CDPR to promote the game before release, has a disclaimer on its site.

"Users may experience performance issues when playing this game on Xbox One consoles until this game is updated," the statement reads.

With the team working to release the 1.2 update, and presumably working on the next-gen ports, has CDPR stretched itself too thin? Will Cyberpunk 2077 ever be in a state where it can regain the mindshare it once had?

We'll keep you updated as to whether the game makes its return to the PlayStation Store anytime soon.
