Destiny 2 Ascendant Shard Guide
What Are Ascendant Shards?
Ascendant Shards are an upgrade material that allows armour to reach its highest level.
They can also be used at the Exotic Kiosk in the Tower to buy exotics from Years 1, 2 or 3 that you may have missed, making them ideal fodder for collectors or anyone that wants to test out some of the game's craziest build options.
How To Get Ascendant Shards
Ascendant Shards can be acquired in a few ways.
Purchase Directly From Banshee
Each Ascendant Shard will set you back ten enhancement prisms and 50K in Glimmer as well as some other materials, so be sure to grind your currencies back up afterwards.
As a heads up, that's 20% of the max Glimmer you can carry.
Looking for Enhancement Prisms? You can buy them from Banshee for 10 Enhancement Cores, which is no small feat in itself.
Complete Nightfall: The Ordeal
Easily the toughest way of earning Ascendant Shards, you'll need to complete the Master Difficulty Nightfall Strikes.
There's a Power Level recommendation of 1280, so expect a serious challenge, and you'll be relying on RNG for a drop since they aren't guaranteed.
Earn Through The Season Pass
You can earn Ascendant Shards through levelling your Season Pass.
Just be sure to pick up plenty of Bounties to complete and you'll fly through the ranks.
