The Diablo 4 Andariel boss fight Season 1 punctuates the game's fourth act. Surprisingly enough, it's also the shortest chapter in the game. I personally clocked in at around 25 minutes on World Tier 2.
I digress. Point is, our Diablo 4 Andariel boss guide takes a look at how you can defeat this Lesser Evil, as well various tips that should keep you alive.
How to beat Andariel in Diablo 4
The Diablo 4 Andariel boss fight occurs in Act 4 - Anguish Incarnate. For those who are new to the series, this references the demoness' moniker, the Maiden of Anguish. We haven't seen her since the second game in the franchise, but now, she's been summoned back to Sanctuary. Let's take her back to oblivion, shall we?
Andariel boss abilities
The Diablo 4 Andariel boss encounter takes place in a wide-open arena. There's a lot of room to move, so use this to your advantage when trying to avoid the following abilities:
- Shackles - From time to time, several contraptions with chains will spawn in the area. If you go near them, they'll automatically shackle your character. This will prevent you from moving further away, which can be a problem due to the boss' other attacks. You've got two options:
- Be careful when moving around so that you don't accidentally go to a spot where a Shackle is, or where it might spawn.
- If you do get trapped, ignore the boss and destroy the contraption immediately.
- Hellfire Cascade - Andariel's other notable ability is a spell that creates thick red lines on the ground. After a short delay, scorching flames will travel along these lines. It's imperative that you get out of the way, or you'll take quite a bit of damage.
One more thing to mention about the Diablo 4 Andariel boss fight is that your opponent herself is shackled at the start of the fight. As such, she moves a lot slower.
However, once she breaks free, she'll be able to walk and teleport around normally. She'll also do regular melee attacks, which you can tank. In my case, as a Necro main, I mostly let my minions do the work, while I pelted her with projectiles and AoE novas.
And that's how you beat the Diablo 4 Andariel boss in Act 4. If you're a veteran of the series, then you probably thought this was a treat. Don't worry, since another surprise awaits you during the next chapter.
