June 1, 2023: The Diablo 4 early access period starts tomorrow! Read on to see whether you can dive into multiplayer.

If you're excited for the release of Diablo 4, then one question that you'll definitely be asking yourself is, will Diablo 4 have multiplayer? Multiplayer has been a staple feature of previous Diablo titles, allowing players to team up with their friends to take on the demons of Hell in search of juicy loot.

Diablo 4 is the most ambitious Diablo title to date, being in development for many years at this point. With it's release quickly approaching, we'll soon be able to venture into the deepest, darkest parts of Sanctuary once more.

Will Diablo 4 have multiplayer?

The long and short of it is yes, Diablo 4 will have multiplayer elements. This means that players will be able to once again team up with friends to take on the campaign and end game content in a cooperative fashion. While we don't know the party limit, we expect that it'll be four, similar to other Diablo titles. There is also a PvP mode, which has been a lesser used feature in the past, but it will be back this time around and have a lot more depth to it.

Will I see other players in Diablo 4?

One aspect of the game that's rather interesting is that Diablo 4 introduces more of an MMO feel to the game. We'll actually be able to see other players in town centers, but as soon as we go out into the world, they will disappear. There is one instance where we will see other players outside our party in the open world, and that's in the instance of World Bosses.

World Bosses make their first appearance in Diablo, and according to Blizzard, these bosses are massive. They are so big, that the camera actually zooms out to encapsulate the entirety of the encounter. Blizzard also confirms that you're going to need multiple parties to take down these monstrosities.

We'll have to wait until the beta goes live for the game to get a real sense of the Multiplayer functionality and the scale of these world bosses. But that's all we have for you on Diablo 4 multiplayer. Be sure to check back closer to launch in case any new information comes out, we'll be sure to have that here.

While you're here, if you're looking for more Diablo 4 content, then be sure to take a look at our Diablo 4 classes guide, where we go through each of the classes coming to the game at launch and talk about each of their play styles.
