Can you play Disney Dreamlight Valley via Apple Arcade?

Yes, you can play Disney Dreamlight Valley via Apple Arcade. The mobile edition of the game was released on December 6 for supported iOS devices. Players will also get the new Disney Dreamlight Valley DLC, A Rift in Time, for free within the Arcade Edition.

For those who've played Disney Dreamlight Valley on PC or console, there's little that separates the version you'll be familiar with and the Arcade Edition. General gameplay is identical, and most players won't notice much differences between the two editions.

However, in-game transactions have been removed for the Arcade Edition of Dreamlight Valley, meaning players on mobile won't be able to access the in-game Premium Shop or engage with the Star Paths mechanic, Dreamlight Valley's equivalent of a battle pass. This is because games on Apple Arcade aren't allowed to feature in-app purchases, due to the subscription model of the service.

What is Apple Arcade?

To play Disney Dreamlight Valley: Arcade Edition, owners of iOS devices will first have to purchase an Apple Arcade subscription. Similar to Xbox Game Pass, players pay a subscription fee to access a library of games that they can play for free. Apple Arcade allows subscribers to play on any iOS device, such as an iPhone, iPad, or even a Mac or an Apple TV.

Subscribing for a month of Apple Arcade will cost £7.99, which is quite a lot when compared to the quality and amount of games on offer from other subscription services. However, if your main method of consuming games is from your iOS device, Apple Arcade may well be worth investing in.
