You need strength and skill to survive in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but health potions are what truly sustain you.

Health potions are items you can consume to heal your character, particularly useful in tough fights. This article covers how to keep your health potion supply stocked.

How To Get More Health Potions

Potions are the primary means of recovering health; managing them well can be the key to overcoming difficult battles.

However, starting with a limited number of potions makes learning how to expand your stock essential.

Throughout the game, you can discover health potions, usually stored in large, vibrant green pots.

These pots pop up on main quest paths and around significant spots, so breaking them is a great way to keep your health up.

When you break one of these pots, a health potion will either be added to your inventory or used immediately to heal you if your health is low, but your potion stock is full.

If your health and potion reserves are at maximum, the dropped potion will stay on the ground.

This allows you to pick it up later if you need it. This option is handy during boss fights, where going back for a previously dropped potion could turn the tide in your favor.

Besides smashing pots, health potions can occasionally be found lying on the ground after completing significant story events, finishing quests, or defeating major enemies.

These potions are a convenient way to restock your supplies without breaking any pots, so look for opportunities to restock.

How To Expand Your Potion Capacity

Since you want to keep your potion supply full, you may also want to increase your capacity.

Choosing the Antivan Crows faction when building your character is one way to go.

This background comes with the Hidden Pouch trait, giving you an extra slot for potions from the start.

Since this choice is set in stone, it’s wise to think it through to maximize your healing potential. You can also boost your potion supply by upgrading your armor.

For instance, enhancing the Pursuant’s Implements Armor to Rare quality provides an extra potion slot. Enchantments can also help you increase your potion capacity.

Once the Caretaker Workshop hits Rank 7, you can enchant amulets to expand your potion inventory.

This demands effort to enhance your crafting abilities, but the payoff can be significant in tough battles.

Lastly, consider equipping the Overflow rune on your dagger, as this rune passively increases your potion capacity by one.
