If you thought the massive fantasy world of Dragon's Dogma 2 wasn’t already big enough, Capcom has some news for you. In a recent survey to fans, the Japanese publisher has teased huge plans for a Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC expansion.
In our Dragon’s Dogma 2 review, we have the fantasy adventure a 10/10 for its stunning combat, engaging world and punishing difficulty. However, the internet tore the game apart for having microtransactions for easily earnable in-game items similar to other awesome Capcom games like Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 4.
While the internet had its day with the game, fans who actually played the RPG have also fallen in love with its gameplay systems and world. Unfortunately, performance problems are frequent across all platforms, but upcoming patches are planned to remedy these issues.
With players loving the game, Capcom’s latest survey (found here) has teased a potential Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC expansion in the future. While nothing has been officially confirmed by Capcom, players are being asked about the type of content they’d like to see in future DLC.
“Would you be interested in purchasing DLC for Dragon's Dogma 2 if additional contents were to be released?” the Capcom survey asks alongside a text box for suggestions.
Players are also asked how much they would be willing to spend on an expansion for the game. Capcom gives players the options of a $10 minimum and a $50 maximum, the latter being almost the price of the base game.
Of course, the original Dragon’s Dogma on Xbox 360 also received an expansion in the form of Dark Arisen. This expansion added the Bitter Black Island area, new enemies, new armor and some brilliantly difficult endgame content.
With Dark Arisen often seen as the peak of Dragon’s Dogma by hardcore fans due to its variety and tough-as-nails fights, it would be nice to see a similar endgame expansion for Dragon’s Dogma 2. After all, more Dragon’s Dogma is always better than no Dragon’s Dogma.
