Dragon's Dogma is a game Capcom fans have often wanted a sequel for. First released back in 2012, it saw an expanded edition soon after called Dark Arisen, which most recently made the journey to Nintendo Switch back in 2019.
Having received a Netflix adaptation last year, Capcom's been keeping this franchise alive. But back in November 2020, we got news that a sequel is almost certainly arriving soon, though no official confirmation had been given. However, for those looking to find out more, here's everything we know about Dragon's Dogma 2.

Latest news
We now know the release date of Dragon's Dogma 2, on Steam at least. Ahead of a planned announcement due to be streamed later today, the game's Steam page already went ahead and confirmed the release date of March 22, 2024. This information was already out there, thanks to the PEGI rating accidentally mentioning it, so with two separate sources corroborating the date, it seems Spring of next year will see the return of Capcom's action-packed fantasy adventure.
There will be a stream later this evening, scheduled for 1 PM Pacific / 4 pm Eastern / 9 pm GMT likely on the Dragon's Dogma 2 Youtube channel, so be sure to check it out! But we'll update this hub with any new information we can get.
It's been a good month for Dragon's Dogma fans! At the Capcom Showcase in June, a sequel was formally announced. It's being developed on the RE Engine with original Game Director Hideaki Itsuno returning. Sadly there's no news on a release date, and little more than confirmation at the end of the Dragon's Dogma 10 years celebration. Check it out below:
Despite leakers suggesting the game could come out in April 2022, we've still heard nothing about Dragon's Dogma 2. Let's hope that something emerges in the near future.
A Capcom countdown page is teasing some sort of announcement for next weekend. Whilst we think it's more likely that this will be for Street Fighter 6, it could be Dragon's Dogma, it was after all mentioned in a massive data breach at Capcom together with Resident Evil 4 Remake, Monster Hunter 6, and a few more titles. Stay tuned for more info.
Rumours suggest Dragon's Dogma 2 has entered development, using the RE Engine. AestheticGamer has claimed this upcoming entry will use Capcom's prominent RE Engine, which has previously been used across Resident Evil, Monster Hunter Rise, Capcom Arcade Stadium and Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection. Leaks
When Capcom was struck by the ransomware attack last year, it revealed a lot of internal documents about upcoming plans. Several of those listed projects have since been confirmed - like Great Ace Attorney, Resident Evil 4 VR and Monster Hunter Rise's PC port - and "Dragon's Dogma 2" was also listed. That was the first clue that the game was in development, which all changed once the game was officially announced in summer 2022.
Release date speculation
Capcom's leaked internal documents suggested a tentative release date for Q2 2022. That would have placed the game releasing at some point between April and June 2022. But right now, at the time of writing, the game has only just been confirmed. As such, it's likely that with COVID-19 causing widespread delays across the gaming industry, this game might also have been pushed back considerably.
Now the game is official, it's likely we've finally got a release date almost officially confirmed. But while we wait for concrete confirmation, feel free to read up on the FIFA 23 beta, as well as our predicted ratings and news on the web app!
