- A mod has been created to remove and instantly cure Dragonsplague from your game.
- Some players prefer keeping the Dragonsplague to give their Pawns a stat buff.
Some players who have probably had infuriating experiences with Dragonsplague have taken it upon themselves to make a mod that removes it from Dragon's Dogma 2.
The mod is currently available on NexusMods under the name of Dragonsplague Cure. It has already received around 6000 downloads as players frustrated with Dragonsplague add it to their game.
The mod works by adding a hotkey that cures your pawn of Dragonsplague. It also adds a handy new infection meter which you can use to track how far the virus has progressed. In fact, you can also limit it to your main Pawn and adjust it according to your needs.
Why would you want to keep and adjust the infection? That's because, despite the calamity once the meter fills up, Dragonsplague gives a major stat buff to any Pawn that carries it, making it a pretty powerful buff.
For those unfamiliar, Dragonsplague is a silent and deadly disease that can infect any of the Pawns in your party. The Pawns are supposed to be your stalwart allies during your adventure, but this deadly virus turns them into ticking time bombs.
It's difficult to notice and if you don't find a way to cure Dragonsplague early on, it has severe repercussions. The repercussions result in your Pawn morphing into a Dragon the next time you rest in a town or city. By the time you wake up, a cutscene plays and your infected pawn transforms into a Dragon and kills everyone in the city. You'll have to go put them out of their misery.
No NPC has immunity in Dragon's Dogma 2 and a village being wiped out can halt several of your quests and cause you to fail them all at once. Naturally, players caught unawares by this calamity are completely frustrated.
Some players report that the NPCs that die from the calamity eventually respawn after a few days, but that's still several in-game days' worth of inconvenience. it
