Dragon's Dogma 2 is expected to be just as content-packed as its earlier entry, so players can look forward to enjoying hundreds of hours of gameplay once it comes out.
But once they're done with the main game, how much replayability will Dragon's Dogma 2 have? Will it feature a New Game Plus, and what could that look like?

Will Dragon's Dogma 2 have New Game Plus?
With the game a fair way away from release, we do not have the details regarding Dragon's Dogma 2's New Game Plus as of yet. We will update this article with the specifics of this as more information comes out, likely in the weeks leading to the game's March 2024 release.
Regardless, if we want to know if Dragon's Dogma 2 will have New Game Plus and what that might look like, our best bet is to look at its predecessor Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. In this last entry into the Dragon's Dogma, players were indeed given the option to start a New Game Plus. However, it doesn't work exactly as you might expect.
After completing the post-game quest "The Great Hereafter", you can kill yourself with the Godsbane item to complete your run. After this, you can start a New Game or New Game Plus (by choosing either "Load Game" or "Hard Mode"). To overview, here is what differentiates New Game Plus from a regular New Game:
- You retain stats such as your level, skills, and vocation, as well as gold, items and visibility of explored areas on the map.
- New quests become available on the notice board.
- Shops and merchants retain their high-end inventories, with some selling new post-game wares.
Therefore, unless you change your difficulty from regular to hard mode, the strength of your enemies doesn't change, at least in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. The upcoming Dragon's Dogma 2 will not necessarily follow this system, especially considering its predecessor came out over a decade ago.
Still, it's safe to assume that Dragon's Dogma 2 will follow a similar New Game Plus system until Capcom releases information saying otherwise.
